Introduction:


For the ones who wish to opt for urban way to portray true prowess, the all new Audi Q3 is designed by the elite German automaker to fulfill this wish in an effective manner. First introduced in 2012 the Q3 is the entry level SUV crossover in the league of exclusive Q series before Q5 and Q7. Since the introduction of the new face-lifted entry level Audi Q3, Audi has witnessed impressive demand in the auto market of Sri Lanka. Audi Q3 stands as one of the most attractive crossovers available in the market today, that does not compromise on any front.

Engine, mileage & variants:


Q3 is not only aggressively stylish but it offers power packed figures along with the mesmerizing looks. The 2.0 litre TFSI engine is available with 125 kW and 155 kW power output at its disposal. The peak torque generated by both the engine remains constant at 280 Nm at mere 1700 – 4200 rpm. This fascinating drive is further coupled with all-wheel drive quattro and 7 speed S-tronic transmission, which helps in reducing the fuel consumption along with efficient performance. Attaining a top speed of 230 kmph, the 7-speed S tronic transmission housed in the engine allows it to reach 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. Energy recovery system equipped in the car allows it to deliver a decent mileage of 9.7 kmpL.

Exteriors:


Though Q3 echoes off-roading capabilities but it is a true urbane vehicle that gives you a clam place to be in the hectic traffic. The dynamically curved bonnet, the xenon plus headlights with daytime running and large inlet blades are a clear demonstration of the potential, the SUV posses. Overall dimensions of the car stands out at 4385 mm x 1831 mm x 1608 mm (L X W X H) and the wheelbase measures 2603 mm are ample enough to make it stand under the marque of crossover segment. Machine finished 18-inch alloy of the car accommodates a tyre size of 235/50 R18, and ground clearance of 183 mm further improves the off- roading capabilities of Q3.

Interiors:


This entry level luxury crossover by Audi comes with a dashing interior to match with its exterior. This compact executive crossover comes with leatherette seats to add grace to the interior of this vehicle. The electric seat adjustment for both front seats with electric lumber support gives an ultimate seating comfort to the occupants. The axial and vertical adjustable steering column makes it more comfortable for the driver to drive this vehicle at any length. The practicality front of Q3 is quite generous as the crossover offer a boot space of 460 litres, which could be further increased to 1365-litres due to the advantage of split folding of rear seats.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:


The German automaker Audi never loose its sight on the safety front of its occupants. The Ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid disc at rear comes with advance braking system and quality calipers for efficient and safe braking. Further the brakes are coupled with Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution System (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) for effective braking. The Combination of McPherson suspension at the front and 4-link suspension at the rear offers a stable and jounce free ride. Front, rear fog lights, Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), ISOFIX child seat mounting for front passenger and rear seat, parking aid plus with park display are some of the other safety features which are provided in this compact crossover.

Verdict:


The improved performance, exquisite styling, comfortable seating and efficient off-roading capabilities makes Q3 a tough contender of BMW X1 & the Mercedes GLA in the segment.
